Al Sufouh
If you’re looking for a mellow way to spend a day in Dubai, Al Sufouh is a great choice. Nestled along the coastline and just a short drive away from iconic landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, the neighborhood is a breezy escape.
Head to Al Sufouh Beach, which lives up to its nickname ‘ Secret Beach’ thanks to its somewhat hidden location behind a row of palm trees. Take a dip in the shallow, crystal-clear waters, perfect for little ones, or just lie back on the soft white sand and soak up the sunshine. Of course, you can't miss the incredible views of the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab hotel in the distance.
Taking advantage of this setting are serene luxury resorts such as One&Only Royal Mirage and The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, which feature plenty of watersports thrills, fine dining by the beach and top-notch service.
Beyond the beachside vibes, Al Sufouh also extends to some of Dubai's key business districts. Mingle with the city’s most influential at the nearby Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City, where leading international firms including the BBC, CNN, IBM and Microsoft have their regional headquarters.
Al Sufouh, located along the western coast of Dubai, is one of the most prominent areas in the city. It stretches across 7 sq. km. towards the north-western side of Dubai Marina – another high-profile neighborhood in the region.
Al Sufouh includes many clusters of free zone developments such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and Dubai Knowledge Village.
Community Overveiw
Accommodating over 3,000 people and numerous waterfront properties, the development is segmented into two districts, which are Al Sufouh 1 and Al Sufouh 2. The former district begins from Umm Suqeim Street, close to where the road intercepts with the toll highway called Sheikh Zayed Road.
It is known for developments such as Mina A ’Salam and Dubai Police Academy. The southern Al Sufouh 2 is located opposite of Palm Jumeirah which has many leisure, entertainment and retails options.
Located within the community is the educational hub, Dubai Knowledge Park. As the name suggests it contains various educational institutes such as Middlesex University, University of Wollongong, University of Manchester and more.
The area houses a few institutes, tutoring centres and academic service providers. The community has its park, a conference centre and many administrative complexes.
Al Sufouh is also a platform for the business hubs of Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City which houses the offices of leading global organizations in their respective fields. Canon, Dell, Hewlett Packard, Facebook and Samsung are just a few of the companies who have their offices located in Dubai Internet City.
Dubai Media City, on the other hand, houses many local and globally-acclaimed advertisement agencies such as Omnicom Media Group, Leo Burnett, OSN, Sky News and CNBC Arabia.
Transportation and Parking Spaces
For parking in Al Sufouh, each apartment building offers dedicated parking area while villas come with parking space for one or two vehicles. The commercial area offers a basement or street parking for visitors.
Public Transportation
Means or modes of travelling is one of the important factors that contribute to a well-developed community. This is also an aspect where Al Sufouh excels as it has well-connected transport networks throughout the area.
Al Sufouh boasts the Dubai Tram, it is the first tramway project that is powered by an underground electric supply system. The tram runs along Al Sufouh Road and has two terminals, one at Dubai Marina and the other at Al Sufouh.
The tram service is operational 20 hours every day and tram fares are fixed at the rate of AED 3 per trip, which makes it the most affordable tram service as compared to those in other cities.
There are 11 stations in total, some of which include the ones at Marina Towers, Mina Seyahi, Media City and Palm Jumeirah. The Dubai Tram also connects to the Dubai Metro.
As for the metro station, there are three that are located right across Sheikh Zayed Road at Dubai Internet City Metro Station, Sharaf DG Metro Station and Mall of the Emirates Metro Station. Many bus stops are scattered around the neighborhood too so that passengers can easily locate them.

Things to Consider
This master community is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after beachfront communities but there are a couple of things one may want to keep in mind before moving to Al Sufouh. Since the development has a high density of commercial real estate, you should expect heavy congestions on the streets during peak hours.
